"The Anonymous Letter"

In September 2015, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) unveiled an ambitious Movement-wide Strategic Plan aimed at improving operations, program delivery, revenue diversification, and internal alignment to better serve girls.

Just three months later, former GSUSA employees sent a letter to the National Board of Directors, raising serious concerns about excessive spending, poor leadership, and a toxic work environment.

This podcast revisits that turbulent period at GSUSA, exploring the tensions between its strategic vision and internal realities. In future episodes, we’ll examine the changes that followed—or didn’t—and their impact on the Girl Scouts movement and mission.
