"IBM - GSUSA Digital Operating Model Transformation"

 Part 2 of 3

In this segment on the IBM report, we continue examining the challenges Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) faced during its digital transformation.

The organization struggled with technology missteps, overlapping projects with complex dependencies, and unrealistic deadlines—placing immense pressure on the IT team.

IBM’s report highlights a critical disconnect between leadership’s priorities—focusing on customer-facing features—and the IT team’s assessment of the foundational infrastructure needed for long-term success. This misalignment jeopardized a major project, Volunteer Systems 2.0, and risked exacerbating existing organizational challenges, including declining membership.
